Introduction
Tamás Tóth Tott painter artist 21 08 1967 Miskolc.
In 1985 I have finished a decorative painting major in the Academy of Fine Art and Applied Art secondary school. In the same year I received an Endre Domanovszky prize.
In 1989 I graduated as a painter artist teacher at the painting artist school of Budapest Fine Art College. My masters were Ignác Kokas and Gábor Dienes, who often had the same difficulty with me as I had with myself.
After completing a master's degree in one year I moved to Kazincbarcika by winning a local painting competition.
We did newspapers, television and I lead a study group, I painted and we played music… For a couple of years I felt great which was proven by the active creative work and some well-made exhibitions.
I was affected by the „turbulent” change of regime which caused a dramatic changing value system at all levels of society. The power of money became obvious for everyone…
I am trying again in Budapest. We travel, play music and razzle dazzle and I often test the "boundaries" of my body.
Sometimes I paint too ... Sequential course modifications, struggle, experimentation, depth and high altitude of knowledge will test my subsequent years, and my energy. In addition to countless beginnings , failures and „cheers”, special life situations and experiences seasoned the bitter and subsistent constraints of the trying days.
Compared to the number of years the not too productive painting work and the large number of jobs may need an explanation. Even for myself…
I almost gave up but the hoofed is pulling the honey string in front of me again. I do not know how but I am studying economics and working on the Stock Market. The generally distant life path from an artist and I hope the strange choice of an authentic topic gives the identity and kinship between the well-defined creative periods. The many years of stoppages between the creative chapters and career breaks have been distorted (sometimes unprecedented, apparently without continuity), the character of my consecutive formulations.
At the end of the nineties I moved to Leányfalu. Creation of a business, social, public life, village beautifying work, local political engagement are my jobs. From that point of view, rather, criticism of society, human fallacy, essential searching what happened to me is characterized by a creative attitude in my paintings.
I founded a family at the beginning of the XXIth century. My optimism is strong. The calm background, my son (Farkas) and my daughter (Hédi) are the first manifestation of a miracle giving me a more stable value system, courage and perhaps more wisdom for all my actions, including my paintings.
Meanwhile we find a new home in Keszthely. The kids are beautifully growing, and my creative mood has a fertile time. I reached for the topics bravely and was not particularly interested in if my articulation is respecting the traditions of the profession.
During this time I am on the water a lot on sailboats (ever since) which is a good thing for my desire for freedom. If fortune perseveres we can „paddle” for a while…Maybe the boat pictures justify me…
Again I sacrifice many years on the altar of cognition. The Agricultural Sector did not even like me to carry on its back. Meanwhile my private life drifted back also. I've been searching for the "reins" for a long time which slipped out of my hands. I'm starting a new life (umpteen ...?), But let’s carry somebody else my cross…! Moving, treatments, new plans, new picture titles.
"Rhyme" is being made on a changing space-time plane. Maybe there's something left in me that I'm hoping for as a creation and the ration sinks on its knees, but for good. I call the year a re-start. I hope I calm down and that pictures will well up from me!
